Langley currently works with 55 adults with developmental disabilities through our Residential and Community Support programs. We offer two types of residential programs—intensive and supportive. Currently, 22 individuals live in our homes. There are another 33 people in our drop-in community services program. More than 90% of the folks we serve are over 45 years old and more than half are women.
The individuals we serve are unique. All have been diagnosed with a developmental disability; however, the level or impact of the disability is different for each person. Everyone faces their own challenges. This means that some people are able live on their own with minimal support, while others need a more supervised environment. Skill levels vary and sometimes regress with age. Nevertheless, all of them are able to achieve more than they thought they could--and this is where our work begins.
