Maureen has an extensive background in serving the developmentally disabled community, including roles at The Arc of York in Pennsylvania in the afterschool program for children and youth up to age 21 with developmental disabilities and at Catholic Charities Intensive Families Services where cases to reunify or preserve the family unit sometimes involved developmentally disabled adults. Additionally, Maureen worked at Hoffman Homes serving youth with mental health and behavioral issues.
She joined Langley Residential in 2007 in the role of director of residential services to oversee all aspects of LRSS’ residential and care services while directing services for half of our program participants. The LRSS Board of Directors promoted Maureen to interim executive director in March 2021 to maintain the services and operations of the organization following the sudden passing of Betsy Schatz.
Maureen is a certified instructor for a cadre of disciplines, from CPR and First Aid instruction to Human Rights, MANDT for safe and healthy work environments, Behavior Management, Incident Report Writing, and many other industry-related workplace trainings. She successfully completed two Leadership Fairfax programs, Emerging Leaders Institute Class of 2009 and Leadership Fairfax Institute Class of 2013. Maureen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Science with a minor in Psychology from York College of Pennsylvania as well as a certificate in Managerial Development for Organizational Effectiveness from George Mason University.

We are very proud of the dedicated and caring team of professionals who make up our staff. Our employees are passionate advocates for the individuals with developmental disabilities we support and often go beyond the call of duty to assist them.
To ensure the best care for our clients, the individuals on our staff are held to high job performance standards. Because Langley Residential operates under Virginia and Fairfax County licensing guidelines, our employees must acquire and keep current certain training certifications as part of their employment with us.
We have a very engaged Board of Directors that is committed to providing the best care and support possible to the people in our programs. In addition to serving on various committees as part of their board service, many of these volunteers have become even more involved through coaching Langley Residential's sports teams or volunteering for activities and events. We are proud to boast a 100 percent contribution rate among Langley board members.
